All finishers of the inaugural Simpson Desert Ultra will receive a very unique and practical memento of their achievement. We are proud to be partnering with a local artist who is hand painting a design on each and every finisher mug. These paintings tell their stories of the Wangkangurru Yarluyandi people, who are the traditional custodians of the land on which our event takes place.

At SDU we do not crown a winner, and due to our unique starting waves most people wouldn't know who they are racing against even if they were in a "racing" mindset. And honestly, if we didn't need the time in/out of check points for safety reasons we probably wouldn't even record that. It doesn't really matter how fast you are moving, we start the clock when you first enter the course, and we stop it when you've done the last loop, so if you spend 3 hours at the hub sleeping, that time is all included in the finishing time we put on the website.
