The SDU course will traverse a variety of terrain including crossing sand dunes, going along the top of them, negotiating rocky gibber plains and hot footing it across clay pans, some with holes waiting to swallow your foot. The Event Hub will be the nerve centre of the event with each of the 25km loops emanating from it. All participants will transit through this area at the completion of each loop. Every loop is completed in a designated direction with signage provided at important decision junctions advising of such. Please note that in an effort to not be wildly over in distance, our loops are likely to be slightly shorter than 25km.

Please note that the 160km course will start at the Birdsville Hotel. A significant portion of the first 60km is on or alongside roads, and utilises existing checkpoints.
